Revd Dr David B. McEwan
I was born and raised in Scotland but moved to Australia as a young adult. I am married to Chris, and we have two married children, with one grandchild. After Chris and I were married we went to the UK for a number of years and while there I pastored Nazarene churches in Glasgow, Stockton-on-Tees, and Bristol. On returning to Brisbane, I actually pastored this church from 1980-84, when it was called the Kingston Road Church of the Nazarene.
Following several years study at our Nazarene Theological Seminary in the USA, we moved to Melbourne to pastor a Nazarene church. Our family returned to Brisbane from Melbourne in 1997 when I accepted the post of Academic Dean and lecturer at Nazarene Theological College in Thornlands. I had met the founding pastor of this church (Revd Nik Fa’ata’ape) at a conference in Brisbane in 1996 and we became good friends. It was after attending the Logan Community Family Camp in 2002 that we became members of the church. I served as pastor of the church from May 2012 to May 2021, following the retirement of the founding pastor, Revd Nik Fa’ata’ape.
This is very much our church family now and so, following my retirement, Chris and I remain at Logan, serving the community in several ways. I also continue to serve as Director of Research and part-time lecturer at NTC.
