Revd Shane Fa’ata’ape
Pastor
Talofa Lava, My wife and I are from Christchurch, New Zealand. Our parents are of Samoan/Palagi heritage. Crossed the ditch 1995 and made Brisbane, Australia our home. Blessed with 4 sons & 1 daughter. I am the oldest of 5 siblings to the late Revd. Nikolao and Beverly Fa’ata’ape. If you would like to know more about me, let’s have coffee.
Revd Dr David B. McEwan
Pastor Emeritus
I was born and raised in Scotland but moved to Australia as a young adult. I am married to Chris, and we have two married children and one grandson. Prior to coming to this church, I pastored Nazarene churches in the UK (Glasgow, Stockton-on-Tees, Bristol), Brisbane, and Melbourne.
We moved to Brisbane in 1997 when I was appointed as the Academic Dean and lecturer in theology/pastoral theology at Nazarene Theological College, Thornlands. Chris and I have been a part of Logan Community since attending a family camp in 2002. I served as pastor of the church from May 2012 to May 2021, following the retirement of the founding pastor, Revd Nik Fa’ata’ape.
My primary responsibilities now are to teach in our DNA program, as well as to preach when needed. I lead the discussions for our church home group and continue to be involved with some of the visiting and mentoring. I still serve as Director of Research and part-time lecturer at Nazarene Theological College-Brisbane.
Jason Fa’ata’ape
Secretary
Being part of this church is more like a village, or even better, a family. Ever since my family and I joined this church in 2001, we have enjoyed a fellowship that has journeyed with us through the ebbs and flows of life’s tides. My wife, Mabel, and I have served in this church in various capacities since arriving from New Zealand. Currently, I am serving as Secretary, whilst also teaching in the Sunday School. To our delight, our 5 children: Nikolao, Osanna, Enelaki, Litia and Noel, are also actively involved and serving in the Youth, Sunday School and Music ministries. In 2020, we experienced our first wedding as parents, where we welcomed a beautiful daughter-in-law, Abigail, who recently gave birth to our first grandchild, Theodore (Teddy) and he is adorable. I am very blessed to come from a heritage – my parents, Nick and Beverley – that provided a solid platform for me to serve wholeheartedly. My purpose is found in Christ; everything else flows from this.

Born to Samoan parents and raised in Auckland NZ, I am the eldest of 3 boys who have seen both the ugliness and beauty of life. The ugly, too long & personal for a bio, however, hit me up and we'll have a conversation over coffee. The beauty came in 1999 when I encountered Jesus on a personal level at a Logan Nazarene Easter Camp. It was there where I also met my wife Kisa, we married a year later and have 4 beautiful girls together. These guys mean the world to me and I am forever grateful for who God has placed in my care. From a ministry perspective, I currently serve on the church board. Over the years I have worn many hats within the church and that continues in some capacity today. During the week, I am one of 4 coaches who takes carriage of FitNAZ, an in-house Fitness Regime to help support the health and wellbeing needs of our members and serves as a great platform for meeting new people from the wider community. Christian life is a pretty tough yet rewarding gig. I am a work in progress and still have a fair way to go yet before I see the fullness of this transformation manifest in my life. I am comforted by this quote I heard many years ago... "Lord I may not be exactly where you need me to be right now, but I'm so grateful I'm not where I use to be". If we ever get a chance to have that coffee, you will understand the significance of this quote.

Born and raised in South Auckland, NZ, I am of Scottish and Samoan heritage. Married to Eddie and after having four sons, I am now the proud 'Yaya' of two, young granddaughters! We moved to Brisbane in 2001 both with a background in Finance, after encountering Christ in this very church, I was led into the Community Care, Aged and Disability sectors, currently in Aged Care Assessment. Privileged to serve as part of an amazingly gifted worship team, I continue to be in awe of God's goodness, grace, mercy and love.

“Only one life t’will soon be past and only what’s done for Christ will last” This quote was embedded in our family growing up in Samoa. My passion to live for Christ can be traced back to my childhood, when I was confronted by the very fact that as much as my parents love me they cannot take me to heaven. It was a personal choice I had to make by myself.
Ever since I can remember, church, music and singing was an integral part of our family life. My sisters and I sang a lot wherever our Dad preached. I loved everything about church, from Sunday School to Youth, going on mission trips, attending family camps, singing in the choir, to getting married, teaching and then leading Sunday school ministry, just to name a few. For me the best part about church life is having a sense of belonging. A whole church community that is family.
Fast forward to the present, Jason and I continue to be involved in the Sunday School ministry today, since moving from Auckland NZ 20 years ago. We are thankful to God that our 5 children are actively involved and serving in Sunday School, Youth, Praise & Worship ministries; and some taking leadership roles in the church. In recent years we were doubly blessed as our family grew. We were overjoyed seeing our eldest son married so we gained a daughter in law. And out of that union we recently became proud first time grandparents to our precious grandson. My heart sings - I have known the Father’s care for me. God’s been so good to me.
Osanna Fa’ata’ape
NAZArene Youth International President
I am a twenty-something Samoan/Kiwi who was born in South Auckland and raised in Brisbane from the age of three. As the grand daughter of the founding Pastor of this church, I was blessed to be born into a community that has continuously shown me what it looks like to love and serve Christ through loving and serving His people.
Most of my work and volunteer experience has in some way involved helping people – whether that be giving high school students insight into potential career paths, mentoring Pasifika youth and even travelling to the UK to develop and coordinate youth programs across low-socio economic areas using the creative arts and Pasifika culture. As a law/business graduate, I am currently working for a community legal service that assists people who would otherwise be denied access to justice due to social or economic disadvantage.
I am most passionate about serving my community and using my position and skills to elevate the voices of those on the fringes. My primary responsibilities include planning, coordinating and overseeing the church youth ministry.
